Laser Hair Reduction Consultation In Pompano Beach

Before your first laser hair removal session at The Sandbar, you’ll sit down with one of our providers for a consultation. We look at your skin and hair, go over your health history, and tell you plainly whether laser will work for the areas you want treated. You leave knowing your price per session, roughly how many sessions to expect, and how to prepare.

The consultation decides your laser settings

A laser hair reduction consultation is a pretreatment assessment. Its job is to find out whether laser hair removal suits your skin and hair, and to set up treatment so it’s both safe and worth your money.

It’s required because the laser aims at pigment. The contrast between your hair color and your skin tone decides how well the treatment works and which settings are safe to use. Nobody can judge that from a booking form. The full explanation of how the laser works is on our laser hair removal page.

What you walk out with

By the end of the visit, you’ll have:

  • a straight answer on whether laser suits each area you asked about
  • the price per session for those areas, based on our small, medium, and large tiers
  • an estimate of how many sessions you’ll need, usually 6 to 8
  • prep instructions for your first session

If laser isn’t a good match, for example with light blonde or gray hair, you’ll hear that before you’ve paid for a single session.

Who should book one

Every new laser hair removal client at The Sandbar books this consultation first. It’s also the right visit if you’re unsure whether your hair color is a good match.

Some things can push your first session back, and the consultation is where they come up: a recent tan, pregnancy, a medication that raises light sensitivity, or recent waxing. None of them mean you can never be treated. They change the timing.

If you’re more interested in skin concerns than hair, book our general “Consults” appointment instead. It covers Erbium resurfacing and IPL too.

How the consultation goes

We start with your health history. Expect questions about the medications and supplements you take and your skincare products. We’ll also ask about any history of cold sores, keloids, or dark marks after injuries, and hormonal conditions such as PCOS that affect hair growth.

Then we look at the areas you want treated, checking hair color and thickness and how your skin tends to react to sun.

Last, we map out the plan: which areas, which price tier each falls into, how sessions will be spaced, and what to avoid beforehand, such as tanning and waxing.

From consultation to your final session

  • Consultation. Assessment, pricing, and a plan.
  • Prep window. Skip tanning and stop waxing or plucking the area.
  • First session. Shave the area beforehand, as instructed.
  • The series. Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced to catch each new growth cycle.
  • Wrap up. We review your results and talk about whether touch ups make sense.

Why start your hair removal plan at The Sandbar

Your consultation is with a licensed medical provider. Rachel Polazzi, CRNA, owns the practice and leads the team. The person assessing you knows what each laser setting means for your skin.

Our per area prices are published, so the numbers you hear at the consultation match what’s on our site.

Consultation FAQ

Why do I need a consultation before laser hair removal?

The laser targets pigment, so your skin tone and hair color decide which settings are safe and whether the treatment will work. We need to see both in person before your first session.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Bring a list of the medications, supplements, and skincare products you use. Some of them can make skin more sensitive to light.

What if laser hair removal won’t work for me?

We’ll tell you at the consultation. Light blonde, red, gray, and white hair usually responds poorly because it has little pigment for the laser to target. If that’s you, we’ll talk through what else could work.
